Max Homa is one of the most prolific social media users in professional golf. The PGA Tour star is often online, voicing his thoughts and more. On Tuesday, a fan shared with him a video of their golf swing and asked Homa to roast them.
Homa happily obliged. He initially said that the swing wasn't "that bad" before jumping in head first to his roast:
"Even on my worst day I’d beat u badly enough that you’d consider going to Target with ur gf instead of playing with ur boys on a Saturday boom roasted."
It was a brutal dig from Homa. The video came as a response to Homa's joke that golf Twitter is far too negative these days. He jokingly said he'd be joining political Twitter for its level-headedness.
But when the fan asked to be roasted for his golf swing, Homa couldn't help but oblige and send out one of the funniest roasts he's done.
Max Homa looking forward to next year
When asked, Max Homa was extremely blunt about his 2024 performance. The golfer had no wins and just three top-10 finishes (not counting the win at the Presidents Cup) in a season he called "terrible." But the future holds a new opportunity, and Homa is looking forward to it.
He said via the PGA Tour:
“I am excited for 2025 in that a lot of things I wasn't particularly good at to start '24 I did become quite good at. So, with another couple months of work and being able to hone in the things I didn't do well in the past season, you know, I still grew in areas. Just you're going to need to do a good job of taking what you did improve on and put that to good use for the next season when you do play better in the areas you struggled in."
He played in the Zozo Championship last weekend, placing T27 after shooting eight under par. Nico Echevarria eventually won at -20. Homa continued:
“I'm excited for that. I'm excited for the things I've gotten better at and I'm just going to continue to work on the things I struggled with last year.”
Despite the struggles in 2024, Homa did feel like he "improved a lot" on a few troublesome aspects of his golf game. Max Homa added that these things aren't necessarily visible in golf but are things he knows and experiences internally. He said there was growth despite the poor overall results.
He called it a frustrating season, but he acknowledged that frustrating does not mean his year was a "net negative."
