Brooks Koepka won the 2023 PGA Championship and picked up the fifth major win of his career. The LIV Golfer showed spectacular control and technique as he finished the final round with a -9. For him, it was a big comeback, especially after his T2 finish at the 2023 Masters.

Brooks Koepka lost the 2023 Masters to Jon Rahm despite leading for the majority of the event. He blamed himself for 'choking' at the Masters and was adamant not to repeat the same mistake again. This time he played well under pressure and learned from his mistake.

Speaking via Golf Monthly, Koepka said:

"I've always learned more from the four times I've finished second than, I guess, the five times that I've won now. I think failure is how you learn. You get better from it. You realize what mistakes you've made."

He credits his loss at the Masters for his win at the 2023 PGA Championship. For him, it was an experience that he will remember for every major he competes in from here on forward. He said:

"I definitely wouldn't have won, I don't think, if that [The Masters] didn't happen. Definitely take it and keep using it going forward for each event, each major, any time I'm in contention."

For Koepka, the key was being honest with himself and opening up about the issues he faced. He believes that if one can do that, they are miles ahead. With Koepka's fifth Major win, he has now crossed Rory McIlroy and is tied with Seve Ballesteros for most Major wins.

This is Brook Koepka's first major win in four years. A series of injuries left him unable to perform properly and this win was a special one for him. It felt like things were back in control, especially after the chaos of the LIV Golf Series vs. PGA Tour. He said:

"I think this one is probably the most meaningful of them all with everything that's gone on, all the crazy stuff over the last few years. It feels good to be back and to get number five."

While Brooks Koepka finished first at the Championship after carding a -4 in the fourth round, it was a disappointing end for Viktor Hovland. Hovland finished T2 alongside Scottie Scheffler. With the T2 finish, Scheffler has reclaimed his World No. 1 spot on the OWGR Points board.
