Golf journalist makes big claim about Canadian golfers’ role on Netflix’s Full Swing, show executive Chad Munn replies

Netflix’s Full Swing
The third season of Netfix's Full Swing has been announced | YouTube@Netflix

Following the announcement of a new season of Netflix's popular golf series Full Swing, golf journalist Adam Stanley made an intriguing claim. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Stanley revealed that the cameras were on Canadians while recording content for the upcoming season.

He added that didn't necessarily mean there would be a full episode dedicated to Canadian players.

Netflix recently confirmed the third season of the docuseries with an announcement via their X account.

Stanley reshared the post, adding details about the possible cast. He wrote:

"Netflix cameras were on some Canadians this year @PGATOUR. That doesn't mean there will for sure be an episode based around them, but they've been followed!"

Interestingly, in the comments section of the post, the show's Executive Producer Chad Munn responded with "wide-eye" emojis.

The Netflix series focused on golf has spanned two seasons, featuring tensions within the golf world with the introduction of LIV Golf, the challenging lives of the players, and the events surrounding news of a shock merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, as well as the 2023 Ryder Cup. The series has featured renowned PGA Tour players and LIV golfers, including Dustin Johnson, Ian Poulter, Mito Pereira, and Brooks Koepka. So far, it has primarily featured American and English golfers.

One of the standout moments for Canadian players that may be part of the show was the series of events surrounding Nick Taylor winning the RBC Canadian Open. Taylor is the first Canadian to win the tournament in 69 years. Fellow Canadian Adam Hadwin joined Taylor on the course, looking to celebrate the phenomenal win and. But he was tackled by a security guard, who mistook him for a spectator

Hadwin later spoke about it, saying (via ESPN):

"The moment itself and what Nick accomplished was amazing. I definitely did not want to be a part of what transpired after that, but it has been a lot of fun reading through and seeing what people had to say."

It will be interesting if this and other golfing moments involving Canadian players will be part of the upcoming season of Full Swing, if Stanley's claim is true.
