PGA Tour player Max Homa recently posted that he was excited about a police chase in his hometown. He recently competed in the 2024 ZOZO Championship and tied for 27th at the tournament.
Homa's response came to a post by an account Birds in the Air Alerts (@SkyWobAlerts), a live police chase coverage platform. It was started by Rob Perez, better known by his online alias 'WorldWideWob'.
SkyWobAlerts post read:
"BIRDS IN THE AIR| We have a silver Dodge Charger on the run in LA. Gil Leyvas on the call."
Max Homa commented on the post:
"They’re in my hometown! Hell yes let’s ride"
The live coverage of the police chase was streamed on Twitch where Perez gave commentary and engaged with viewers in real time. Because of its popularity, Rob Perez launched the website BirdsInTheAir.com which is an official merchandise store. The merchandise includes T-shirts, hoodies, and more with references to police chases.
Max Homa was born in Burbank, California, and grew up in Vista Valencia. He did his high school at Valencia High School in Santa Clarita, a suburb of Los Angeles, and currently resides in Arizona.
Max Homa says that he is excited for the 2025 season
Max Homa has had an average 2024 season, as per his standards. In the 2022-23 season, he has had two wins, and 13 top-10 finishes in 25 starts. However, this year, he has only three top-10 finishes with no wins. Homa finished 9th in the FedExCup standings last year but finished 46th this year.
In the recent 2024 ZOZO Championship, Homa said that he's hoping for a better 2025. He said, via PGA Tour:
"I am excited for 2025 in that a lot of things I wasn't particularly good at to start '24 I did become quite good at. So, with another couple months of work and being able to hone in the things I didn't do well in the past season, you know, I still grew in areas."
"Just you're going to need to do a good job of taking what you did improve on and put that to good use for the next season when you do play better in the areas you struggled in. I'm excited for that. I'm excited for the things I've gotten better at and I'm just going to continue to work on the things I struggled with last year," he added.
Homa started the year when he was seventh-ranked on the OWGR rankings. He has slipped to 30th. Homa said that even though it was a "frustrating" season, it didn't mean that it was net negative.
