Robert MacIntyre has his eyes set on winning the Genesis Scottish Open after jumping 13 spots on the leaderboard following the third round of the tournament on Saturday, July 13. The Scottish golfer revealed his ambition to win the PGA Tour and European Tour co-sponsored tournament on his home soil.

MacIntyre was the runner-up last year when Rory McIlroy secured a stunning victory with a crucial birdie on the final hole. McIlroy won the event by just one stroke, leaving the 27-year-old in solo second place in 2023.

This year, MacIntyre shot an impressive round of 63 on day three of the event, finishing just two strokes behind the leader Ludvig Aberg. He is in contention to clinch the trophy.

Following the third round, the Scot discussed his performance and expressed his desire to win the Scottish Open.

"I've not been shy in saying it: The Scottish Open is the one I want. It's not going to change tomorrow. I'm in that position. I've been doing good things. I've been playing well. Not just this week but for the previous kind of eight weeks, I feel like my game has been in good shape," said MacIntyre (via Asap Sport).
"Tomorrow is just another round of golf, and I've just got to control me and if I do that well, then I'm going to be in with a chance," he added.

Robert MacIntyre has had some strong finishes in 2024. He played in 19 tournaments this season on the PGA Tour and made the cut in 10 of them. He won the 2024 RBC Canadian Open last month and is in good form to win again.
