How did Bryson DeChambeau perform in the US Open 2025, Round 2?

Bryson DeChambeau faced a shock exit at the US Open 2025 after he missed the cut at Oakmont. The defending champion shot a 7-over 77 in the second round to aggregate at 10-over and miss the weekend by three shots.

On Friday, June 13, DeChambeau entered Oakmont at 3-over and was safe in the top half. However, the start of the second day didn’t go pleasantly, as he bogeyed the first hole. After making a birdie on the third, he added three straight bogeys to shoot 37 on the front nine.

The back nine was even worse, as Bryson DeChambeau went bogey-birdie-bogey on the first three holes. The misery didn’t stop there, as he made a double bogey on the par-4 15th before bogeying two more holes.

This is LIV Golf's star’s first missed cut at a major since last year’s Open Championship. For the uninitiated, he had finished inside the top five in both majors this season and was runner-up at the PGA Championship last month.

Besides Bryson DeChambeau, several big names like Phil Mickelson, Ludvig Aberg, and Dustin Johnson also had to bid an early adieu at Oakmont.

Following the second day’s action, Sam Burns held a one-shot lead over J.J. Spaun, while Viktor Hovland sat solo third.
