His impressive performance also led him to finish T15, the best-ever finish for a club pro in almost four decades. Block's efforts not only earned him a spot at the 2024 PGA Championship but also $288,333. His hole-in-one on the 15th hole was the highlight of the day.

Michael Block tied with Eric Cole and Tyrrell Hatton. He, therefore, earned the average earnings of 15th, 16th, and 17th place, which was just under $300,000. This is by far Block's biggest win.

Speaking via Golf Monthly he said:

"Seventy-five thousand dollars, 2014, Club Professional National Championship at the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach. There was the 2001 California State Open for $4,500 for a long, long time, and when I got $75K in one tournament, I was very happy."

Michael Block's dream weekend at the 2023 PGA Championship

Michael Block's weekend has been nothing short of a dream. Despite the precarious weather conditions and the difficult course, Block shot a 70 for the first three rounds of the Championship. He shot a 71 in his last round, finishing +1 for the entire tournament. After the fourth round Block was seen crying and speaking to the reporters.

Block said via CNN:

“If it makes any sense, the one thing in the world that makes me cry is golf. If that puts into context as far as how much I love the game, you know now. It’s everything to me. Obviously I love my family and everything else and my job and everything, but golf is my life. I live it, breathe it."

Michael Block's dream of playing at Oak Hill has been realized and he could not be happier about it. The professional player will now tee it up for the 2023 Charles Schwab challenge next week, as the T15 finish allowed him a sponsor exemption.

Ultimately Brooks Koepka took a spectacular win at the PGA Championship, adding a fifth major win to his career. Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland finished T2, while Kurt Kitayama, Bryson DeChambeau, and Cameron Davis took a joint third place.
