How much has Scottie Scheffler earned in 2024 so far? RBC Heritage champion’s season earnings explored

Scottie Scheffler has been on a hot streak lately. He has now won four out of his last five starts, and he was a short putt and a playoff away from making that a perfect five for five in the Houston Open. The four events he has won include a Major, the Players Championship (often called the Fifth Major), and two Signature Events.

Those notably carry massive prize purses. They are all designed as the biggest tournaments in golf, as the Players always has the best of the tour and the Masters brings in the world's best.

His success and that includes his "losses", has been incredibly fruitful. He has, as of his RBC Heritage win, earned an impressive $18,693,235. He's finished no lower than T17 in a start this year, and that has translated to an impressive income.

Exploring Scottie Scheffler's career earnings

Signature Events are PGA Tour exclusive, but they are restricted fields of only the best players available, so the prize purse is massive. All of the events Scheffler has won have carried $20 million or more in total prizes, and he's of course taken the lion's share of that multiple times.

His yearly income from just 2024 alone would be almost enough to put him in the top 100 for the PGA Tour all time. Ben Crane earned $21,682,963 for his career, and Scheffler is another Signature Event win this year away from surpassing that total in one season.

In total, he's already the 12th-highest earner on tour. If he continues this recent run of success, he will quickly climb the leaderboard. It's going to take an all-time career to catch Tiger Woods ($120 million career), but Scheffler is climbing steadily.

One thing is working in his favor: the rising prize purses. Whether it's due to inflation or to combat LIV or a combination of both, the purses on tour are much bigger now, so winning or doing well pays a lot better.

This is true even in the last couple of years. Scheffler's Masters win in 2022 did not have as big of a prize purse as his latest victory at Augusta National did. Everything's up, which makes it a great time to play well.

The rest of the PGA Tour schedule should see Scottie Scheffler as every event's favorite unless he's not playing. While he certainly can't win them all, he may come close. And if he does, he's just going to continue adding to his impressive earnings this year.

There's talk of him completing a Grand Slam this year. Of course, he's only 25% of the way through to that and no one has come close in a very long time. But if he did manage to do that, he would bring in quite a lot of money.

At the end of the 2024 season, it's possible that his current earnings may look like a drop in the bucket to his eventual total. He's just playing that well and earning that much money.
