Charley Hull has been one of the standout names in women’s golf since joining the LPGA Tour in 2015. In an interview with Esquire back in December 2014, she opened up about her early influences and revealed that she was more drawn to men’s golf while growing up.

When asked if she watched a lot of women’s golf as a child, Hull said:

“To be honest I didn’t watch women’s golf a lot, I watched more men’s golf."

Naturally, she had her favorites, and among them was Tiger Woods. Speaking in the same interview, Charley Hull hailed Woods as one of her heroes and expressed her belief that he would win another major despite his struggles at the time.

"Yes, I think he will win another major because he’s something special. I love Tiger and I know that he had a hard time a few years ago but in my eyes, he’s still one of my heroes."

By then, Tiger Woods had already won 14 major titles, with his last one coming in 2008. After that, he experienced some struggles in his career. In 2009, he faced a personal scandal, followed by several injuries, and changes to his swing. He still won PGA Tour events and even returned to World No. 1 in 2013, but couldn’t win another major during that time.

Woods also had serious back problems, which led to multiple surgeries. His form dropped, and he spent years dealing with pain and poor performance. He often missed cuts or had to withdraw from tournaments.

In 2018, he finally showed signs of a comeback. He finished T6 at The Open and came second at the PGA Championship. Then, in 2019, he made one of the greatest comebacks in sports history by winning the Masters, his 15th major and first in 11 years.
