LIV Golf’s latest event for the content creators, the Duels Virginia, took place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville. The event featured several LIV pros, including Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, and Jon Rahm, alongside popular content creators such as Grant Horvat, Luke Kwon, Rick Shiels, Nick “Fat Perez” Stubbe, and the Bryan Brothers, who have over 344,000 Instagram followers.
The made-for-YouTube event was designed as a relaxed nine-hole scramble, allowing pros and influencers to team up in a casual format setting. The format encouraged banter, mic’d up moments, and cross-platform exposure.
This edition follows the success of The Duels: Miami, which crossed over 2.3 million views on YouTube. The upcoming Virginia episode is scheduled to be released on June 23 via the Bryan Bros Golf YouTube channel. LIV Golf shared a series of photos from the event on Instagram, capturing fun interactions and shots from the match.
"The Duels Virginia was absolutely epic! We can not wait to drop this episode on June 23rd," read the caption.
The concept behind the series is to make golf more engaging and accessible by blending star power, influencer energy, and entertaining on-course moments.
LIV Golfers' take on The Duels
LIV Golf has once again partnered with Summit House for the production and distribution of The Duels. Each event is shaped by its host creator, who contributes to the format, direction, and overall presentation. These are closed, digital-only events with no live fan attendance.
Grant Horvat, who also participated in the Miami edition, said the overwhelming response made it clear more episodes were needed.
"With different hosts and different formats, we're really looking to shake things up and I think it's going to continue to get really interesting," he said via LIV Golf website.
Sergio Garcia, captain of Fireballs GC, noted that the series helps grow interest among younger players.
“The Duels are important for that younger generation of players coming up and people getting into the game. We’re excited about it," Garcia said.
Meanwhile, George Bryan of the Bryan Brothers, who hosted the Virginia edition, said the response from the Miami event clearly showed high demand.
“The energy and vibe from the Miami event was electric and you can obviously tell by the response that the people want more. We can't wait to deliver,” Bryan commented.
LIV Golf’s CMO, Adam Harter, also credited YouTube creators for expanding the sport’s reach, saying via LIV Golf website:
“YouTube golf has become one of the most powerful forces in growing the game; these extraordinary content creators are leading a movement that's inspiring the next generation of golfers and golf fans around the world…and reshaping how we all connect with the game of golf."
The series is expected to expand to other locations, including Dallas, the UK, and Chicago, later this season.
