Lilia Vu to miss second straight Major of the year after withdrawing from 2024 US Women's Open

Lilia Vu has pulled out of the 2024 US Women's Open as she continues to struggle with back issues. This will be the second consecutive Major championship she will miss.

The US Women's Open 2024 will take place at Lancaster Country Club from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2. Vu has been replaced by Yealimi Noh in the tournament's official field. Noh was the second alternate in the US Women's Open qualifying. Ssu Chia Cheng, the first alternate, was already included in the field.

After winning four titles, including two Majors, last season, this year has been a letdown for Vu, as she has yet to regain full fitness. She has been out of action since competing at the Ford Championship two months ago. She was the defending champion at the Chevron Championship but was forced to pull out of the event.

Last season, Vu won the Honda LPGA Thailand, her debut win, followed by victories at the Chevron Championship, the AIG Women’s Open, and the Annika Invitational. These four wins helped her reach the top of the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. Currently, she is ranked second in the world.
