LIV golfer Abraham Ancer registered a victory at the Saudi International by two shots over Cameron Young on Sunday (February 5). The Mexican star completed a wire-to-wire victory in the tournament held in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old golfer carded a two-under-par 68 to finish at 19 under 261 to clinch the opening event of the Asian Tour. With this win, Ancer won his fourth career title and took home $1,000,000 in prize money.

Speaking at the winning conference, Ancer said:

“Another very solid round. Happy with no dropped shots. That's always my goal. On a golf course like this where it's blowing pretty good, I'm really, really happy. My ball-striking has definitely been on, and I've been rolling it really nice all week.”

He added:

“Yeah, extremely happy [with Saudi International win]. Not really focused on what everybody else is doing. Just trying to play the same game I've been playing the past three days. It's nice to see my name up there. Can't really focus on that. Just got to do it again.”

Interestingly, Young plays on the PGA Tour and has received a waiver to compete in the Saudi International, while Ancer plays in LIV Golf. The two rival series golfers secured the first two positions.

Greg Norman recently shared a social media post suggesting a tournament between LIV golfers and PGA Tour players and eventually, the LIV golfers and tour players playing on the same field against each other.

Last week, Rory McIlroy won the Dubia Classic by defeating LIV golfer Patrick Reed. However, at the PIF Saudi International, LIV golfers dominated the field.

Lucas Herbert finished third and the fourth position was secured by Saom Kaewkanjana. Patrick Reed finished T25 in a three-way tie alongside Graeme McDowell and Hennie Du Plessis.
