Lydia Ko reacted to Ryan Fox’s winning moment at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open with a three-word message on Instagram. Fox pulled off an impressive win in Canada, edging out Sam Burns in a tense four-hole playoff. He shot rounds of 66, 66, 64, and 66 to finish 18-under par at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. With this win, he claimed a $1.764 million prize from the $9.8 million purse.

On the par-5 18th, Fox secured a birdie with a clutch shot that sealed the win. The PGA Tour later shared a video of Fox’s winning moment on Instagram, quoting him:

“That shot I hit on 18 ... probably the best shot I've ever hit."

Among those who took notice was LPGA star Lydia Ko. Sharing the post on her Instagram story, she responded with a short and proud three-word message:

Ko and Fox both represent New Zealand, though Ko was born in Seoul, South Korea, and Fox in Auckland.

This was Fox’s second win of the 2025 season, following his earlier victory at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, where he finished 15-under par. He has played 14 events so far this year, recording two wins, two top-10 finishes, and missing the cut four times. He currently ranks No. 32 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Fox began his season in February at the WM Phoenix Open, finishing T63 at 3-under par. He then missed the cut at both the Mexico Open and the Cognizant Classic. He bounced back with a T20 finish (4-under) at The Players Championship, followed by a T47 (1-over) at the Valspar Championship and a T15 (11-under) at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

He missed the cut again at the Valero Texas Open and finished T59 at the Corales Puntacana Championship. After another missed cut at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, he placed T60 (5-under) at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson before winning the Myrtle Beach Classic. He then posted a T28 (1-under) at the PGA Championship and a T20 at the Memorial Tournament before clinching the title in Canada.

Lydia Ko is currently ranked No. 3 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings and No. 14 in the CME Points Standings. She has played in eight events so far in the 2025 season, with one win and three top-10 finishes.

She started her season at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, where she finished solo sixth at 13-under par. At the Founders Cup, she placed T48 at 1-under par. Ko secured her first win of the season at the HSBC Women’s World Championship, finishing 13-under par. She followed it with a T6 finish at the Ford Championship, where she carded 18-under par.

At the T-Mobile Match Play, she ended T35 with a 38-under-par total. She then finished T52 at the Chevron Championship, posting 5-over par.

Lydia Ko narrowly missed the top 10 at the Mizuho Americas Open, finishing T11 at 8-under par. Most recently, she competed in the U.S. Women’s Open and finished T26 at 3-over par.
