Matt Fitzpatrick’s wife, Katherine, reviewed the Church Pews bunkers at the 2025 US Open. I just really believed this could be the time. Yeah, for whatever reason, because of my success here before, it just felt like this was the time.”

Matt Fitzpatrick won by defeating Scottie Scheffler with a one-shot lead. The golfer scored 6 under with 68 in the first round after shooting five birdies in total. He fired 70 in the second round with two birdies on the front nine and two on the back nine. In the third and fourth rounds, he fired 68 with five birdies in each.
