Michael S. Kim has shared a hilarious story about Annika Sorenstam caddying for her son Will McGee. He tweeted describing the incident at a junior event when McGee grumbled over a read advised by the LPGA legend.

Kim wrote in the light-hearted tweet posted on November 26 about the 'Greatest of All Time':

“Charles Howell was caddying for his son at a junior event and saw that they were paired together with Annika Sorenstam’s son who she also was caddying for. Both kids were playing ok but because it’s golf and juniors, the kids were getting frustrated at times.
At one point, Annika Sorenstam gave her son a read on a putt. Her son hits the putt and it misses high and her son says, 'I knew the read was too high!' Charles took a chuckle and thought even the 🐐 [GOAT] gets gripe about her advice by her kids. Everyone had a good time by the end of it.”

McGee appeared with his mother at the 2022 and 2023 PNC Championships. In the 2022 edition, team Sorenstam finished at T17 with 15 under and the team’s score in the first and second rounds were 62 and 67 with 10 and five birdies, respectively. In the 2023 edition, Sorenstam and her son finished at T11 with a total score of 15 under. The duo scored 62 in the first round with eight birdies and 67 in the second with seven.

Will McGee described his playing experience at the 2023 PNC Championship with his mother Annika Sorenstam

Will McGee made an early ace during the practice round at the 2023 PNC Championship with his father, Mike. The shot was made with a 7 iron and traveled 128 yards to ace the fourth hole. Following that, on Saturday, McGee dropped a 40-foot eagle putt on the third hole.

The junior golfer described his experience (via Golfweek):

“At the start it was downhil, and then like towards the middle you could see it was going to break right. Right as I had hit it, I thought it was a couple feet short and my mom was like, get some legs, get some legs. And it kept on slowly going and eventually it dropped, and it felt nice.”

Annika Sorenstam said she had better expectations in 2023 than their debut in 2022:

“Last year we just didn’t really know what to expect, and I thought we did quite well last year, and then so now this year, the expectations rise for someone, so therefore, we were a little nervous just for that reason.”

Team Langer won the 2023 PNC Championship with a total score of 25 under.
