PGA Tour pro Wesley Bryan has warned Phil Mickelson about the new 2v2 series. He said Mickelson would regret starting the series with Grant Horvat.

On Tuesday, November 24, veteran golfer Phil Mickelson and popular golf content creator Grant Horvat played a rematch after playing one a few months ago. The first part of the video was shared on Horvat's YouTube channel and has garnered over 700K views so far.

On Tuesday, Phil Mickelson posted a teaser of the upcoming 2v2 series along with Grant Horvat on X. In the video, the duo calls McIlroy their favorite golfer while naming Wesley Bryan their least favorite.

Bryan reposted the clip and issued a warning to the six-time major champion.

"You’re going to regret starting this series," he wrote.

Horvat also jumped into the conversation and challenged Bryan.

"Sorry… @wesleybryangolf Let’s get this thing started!" he wrote.

The 2v2 series is expected to start in January, where the two players will face off against professionals and celebrities. Horvat has over 900K subscribers on YouTube and has collaborated with notable figures such as World No. 1 Nelly Korda and Donald Trump's granddaughter, junior golfer Kai Trump.

Horvat started playing golf in childhood with his father, Steve, who was a professional golfer and instructor. Grant played college golf for Palm Beach Atlantic University but chose content creation as his profession.

Besides being an active professional, Wesley Bryan is also a YouTube content creator and runs a channel named Bryan Bros Golf along with his brother, George. Their channel has over 400K subscribers and has collaborated with players like Jon Rahm, Si Woo Kim, and Sahith Theegala.

When will Phil Mickelson play next?

Phil Mickelson will return to competitive golf in February 2025 with the new season of LIV Golf. The inaugural event of the fourth season will take place in Riyadh from February 6-8.

Mickelson has hinted that he might step down if he fails to improve in the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see whether this will be his final season or if he will continue playing for several more years.

The 2024 season was not great for Phil Mickelson, as he achieved only one top-10 finish. Although he recorded a career-best T6 finish at Jeddah, the season overall was disappointing. He finished 46th in the LIV Golf individual standings and narrowly avoided the Drop Zone.

In the major championships, Mickelson missed the cut at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. His best result in the majors was a T43 finish at the Masters Tournament.
