Amanda Balionis put her new puppy Jenga up for adoption through a stories post on her Instagram account on November 27. Apart from being a journalist, fans know her for helping out dogs in need.
Through one of her Instagram stories, the popular golf reporter posted an update about the dog and his siblings. Amanda revealed that the dogs will be open for adoption from Friday, November 29.
She penned down:
"If you're in the SRQ/Tampa area, Jenga and his siblings will be ready for adoption Friday morning at @nateshonoranimalsrescue!"
In the picture, Balionis could be seen wearing a grey tee and smiling while posing with the puppy. This is a new foster puppy that Amanda recieved from her mother on the day of Thanksgiving. In another Instagram post, she let her followers know that Jenga is only 3 months old.
The 39-year-old owns an NGO that acts as a voice for the puppies. At the 3M Open this year, she was seen interviewing veteran golfers and posing with her furry friends as well.
Fans could spot multiple pictures of that event on her Instagram. In one of them, she was seen sitting on a chair holding a dog, with another dog sitting beside her.
Amanda Balionis has a special place in her heart for golf and dogs
This is not the first time Amanda Balionis has been seen posting her dogs. She is well known for posting photos on social media about her life. She often also posts pictures with her furry friends.
She happens to be the Founder and President of the NGO, Puppies and Golf. Since 2020, the organisation has been working for the betterment of dogs and puppies. Following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the NGO held fundraising events.
They managed to raise more than $28k in donations to provide shelters and rescues. When asked about the mission of her organization in an interview, Amanda Balionis replied to Golf Digest in 2020:
"Our mission is to bring awareness and education to adoption over buying a dog from a breeder. It’s also to financially support shelters that are doing the hard work in making sure these dogs find a home and organizations that are ensuring that people’s lives are being enhanced with these dog-to-human connections."
The organization often collaborates with other animal shelters and pet supply stores. Through popular merchandise like golf caps, she aims to spread awareness among fans and players alike.
In August 2024, Rory McIlroy extended his support through a short tribute at the Zurich Classic. The 35-year-old Irish professional golfer advocated for the adoption of an older dog named Cuddles.
