Rory McIlroy leaving no stone unturned for the 2023 Masters preparation

Rory McIlroy has won 36 professional titles, including 4 major tournament victories, in his illustrated career. Despite being one of the best golfers around for so long, he has never been able to win a Masters.

Rory's record at Augusta National has always been hot and cold. If he finally wins the only major he's yet to win, he will join the elite list of Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods who have completed the career Grand Slam.

The Northern Irishman has been practicing hard, maybe harder than anyone else. As per NUCLR Golf, a popular golf activity tracking Twitter account, the four-time Major winner is going 'all out' for the green jacket.

NUCLR GOLF wrote on Twitter:

"🚨Rory McIlroy already scouted 54 holes at Augusta National and today he’s back for even more preparation. Rory is going all out in search for his 1st green jacket."

It looks like the World No. 2 is leaving no stone unturned to get the desired result next week.

The 2023 Masters Tournament will be Rory McIlroy's 15th appearance at the event. He has never won here but has not performed too poorly either. In his last nine starts at Augusta National, Rory has finished in the top 10 seven times.

There have been a couple of memorable instances for Rory at Augusta National. During the 2011 Masters, he was leading by four strokes coming into the final day. However, in a horrible turn of events, he shot a final round of 80 which included a triple bogey and a four-putt double bogey. This was also the worst round played by any professional in the tournament's history.

McIlroy's best finish came in 2022 when he finished as a solo runner-up. He chipped in for a birdie on the last hole of the event, carding a fourth round of 64, his lowest score in the tournament.

The 33-year-old has won one title so far this year, the Dubai Desert Classic in January. He has recently struggled with his driver, which cost him a cut in the Players Championship. However, after a recent change in drivers, Rory finished runner-up in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and also finished third at the WGC-Match Play in Austin by beating Scottie Scheffler.

2023 Masters details

The 2023 Masters will take place between April 6 to April 9 at the Augusta National Golf Club. The field for the first Major of the year is usually smaller than other major championships. This year, too, the field is expected to be between 90-100.

Tiger Woods will return to the golf course after being last seen at the Genesis Invitational where he finished T-46. The Masters will also feature several LIV Golf players. It would be interesting to see both the rival circuit professionals featured at a single event.

The Champions dinner will be hosted on Tuesday, April 4, where the reigning champion, Scottie Scheffler, will be honored in front of all the past champions.
