Ruoning Yin reflects on her love for golf after winning the Maybank Championship

At the 2024 Maybank Championship, Ruoning Yin claimed her second title in October. In the tournament held at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (West Course), Yin scored 67-67-66-65 to beat Atthaya Thitikul and Haeran Ryu who finished in second and third place respectively.

After the tournament ended, Yin reflected on her love for golf in a statement. The 22-year-old Chinese professional golfer spoke about the stress she suffered at the start of the season and also mentioned the moment she realized her love for golf.

Yin said (via PGA of America):

"This season, so far, I've learned a lot. Early this year, I was really stressed because I had a good year last year, and I put too much pressure on myself thinking about if I can win again or not. And after Mizuho, I realized that I love golf. I really like to play on this tour, play with all my friends I wanted to enjoy my life & enjoy playing on the course. Whatever the goal is, just be happy you get there."

Before winning the Maybank Championship, Ruoning Yin had a successful outing at the Buick LPGA Shanghai as she won the event held in her home country earlier this month.
