Ryan Fox claimed his second PGA Tour title at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open after defeating Sam Burns in a four-hole playoff. The TPC Toronto in Osprey Valley saw the Kiwi golfer finish at 18-under-par and sealed the victory with a clutch birdie after a playoff.
Fox rolled in a key birdie putt on the 18th to stay in contention. Reflecting on the final stretch, Fox said(via ASAP Sports):
"It was tough. I hit some great shots down the stretch in regulation. Probably got a little lucky on that putt on 18 in regulation, snuck in the left door.
To be honest, Sam and I had a bit of a pillow fight there for three holes. It was some pretty average golf from both of us, some average putting. But that shot I hit on 18 with the 3-wood was probably the best shot I ever hit. It would have been nice to make it, but hey, I'll take it."
This victory came weeks after Ryan Fox's first PGA Tour title at the Myrtle Beach Classic, making him a two-time winner in only four starts. Ryan Fox now holds a 2-0 playoff record on the PGA Tour. This victory earned him $1.764 million from the $9.8 million purse.
Even after firing a perfect third-round 62, Sam Burns had to settle for runner-up position. With the US Open at Oakmont just days away, Ryan Fox heads in with major momentum. With that, let's look at the leaderboard of the 2025 RBC Canadian Open.
