Scottie Scheffler had a phenomenal 2024 season. He won seven titles on the PGA Tour, including the Masters. He also won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics men's golf competition.
However, Scheffler also had a surprising incident this year at the PGA Championship when he was arrested before the second round. He was arrested when he was driving to the Valhalla Golf Course, before being released and completing his round.
Recently, some internet users posted that they will have one of their children dress up as Scheffler in a prison uniform and another as a police officer for a Halloween costume.
In a recent Golf.com SUBPAR podcast episode, Drew Scholtz asked the World No.1 if he had 'anything special planned' if kids visit his house dressed as him and the arresting officer. Scheffler said:
"I did see it. I am not online, but when something really good comes out, somebody will inevitably show it to me."
"This time, it was actually Meredith. We were flying home, she was on her phone, and she just started losing it, laughing. She turns around and says, 'Look at this,'" Scottie Scheffler added. (38:12)
The World No.1 was charged with four criminal offences - assault on a police officer, criminal mischief, reckless driving, and ignoring traffic signals. Scheffler was later cleared of all four charges. He further said:
"I don't know what I would do, but I would probably just give them the whole basket (of candy). Take it all. You guys win." (38:40)
During the podcast, Scholtz also asked Scheffler what he thought of the 'Free Scottie T-shirts,' to which he responded:
"Yeah, I was probably walking down Hole No. 12 [that day when I saw them]. I saw some pictures of my mugshots pretty early in that round. I don’t remember where specifically, but I remember seeing and being like, 'Dang! Those guys got those made fast.'" (37:29)
In the podcast, Scottie Scheffler also talked about winning the Olympic gold and his performance on the PGA Tour and the Masters.
