Scottie Scheffler won his first Players Championship on Monday, which was his career's 6th PGA Tour win, and reclaimed the World No. 1 spot from Jon Rahm in the process. In a commanding display, he finished five strokes ahead of Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, the largest margin of victory at the tournament since Stephen Ames won by six shots in 2006. Cheering Scottie on during the final day and to celebrate his win were his wife Meredith, his parents, and his 88-year-old grandmother.

After the win, Scottie talked about his grandmother in an interview.

“It’s pretty impressive she’s walking so many holes out here, she’s a trooper,” the 26-year-old American told reporters. “I really don’t know what to say. She’s had a rough last year with Grandpa passing away, and we have an uncle that’s pretty sick, and I’m just happy that we’re able to kind of enjoy all this together.”

Asked how he would celebrate, Scheffler added,

"Maybe Grandma’s got some food at home. I know she has some dessert. We’ll see what’s in store.”

The last two lines brought a smile to all the fans' faces and they all took to social media to share their reactions on the same.
