The 2023 Masters is set to tee off on Thursday, April 6, at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Ahead of the tournament, the PGA Tour has let out its power rankings. According to American circuit experts, defending champion Scottie Scheffler is the favorite to win the first major of the year.

PGA Tour experts have named Scheffler the best bet to win the Masters. As per the experts, the world’s top-ranked player will fight hard to become the latest to successfully defend his title at the Masters since Tiger Woods in 2002.

The experts deemed the American the most “qualified” to do so as well. Much like most betting sites and experts, the PGA Tour experts also believe that the 26-year-old will get into the record books this weekend.

Meanwhile, experts have listed Rory McIlroy as the second-best player on the field. According to them, the 33-year-old could well complete the career grand slam in his ninth attempt. Having won four times in the last 10 months, the Irishman is a favorite this week as well.

Experts have named Jason Day as the third-best player in the power rankings, which comes as a surprise to many. He sits a position above Jon Rahm, a proven star of the game. Based on PGA Tour experts' opinion, the 35-year-old is likely to better his three top-five records at Augusta this time around.

While Rahm in fourth is no surprise, Jordan Spieth being named fifth-best might be. As per the experts, the 2015 Masters champion will better his recent poor run of form at the event and make a strong finish.

Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau and Collin Morikawa are some of the other names in the top 10 of the power rankings.

Perhaps a surprise entry to the list is LIV Golf star Dustin Johnson at nine. While he is a proven big event player, his placing ahead of Cameron Smith might be a talking point for fans. Sungjae Im also sits in the top 10 of the power rankings for the 2023 Masters.
