Bryson DeChambeau has recently opened up about missing the 2024 Paris Olympics. Since DeChambeau plays on the LIV Tour and the breakaway tour players don't receive OWGR points. As a result, the LIV Golfer, ranked 10th in the OWGR rankings on the cutoff date, June 17, 2024, could not qualify for the Paris Olympics.

The top four players from the USA, Scottie Scheffler (ranked 1st), Xander Schauffele (ranked 2nd), Collin Morikawa (ranked 5th) and Wyndham Clark (ranked 7th) qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The men's golf event will be played from August 1st to 4th at Le Golf National in Guyancourt.

In the pre-tournament press conference with media including Sportskeeda at LIV Golf UK, he was asked if he foresees a future where there are trials to determine who should lead the US golf team for the Olympics, similar to what happens in track and field. He said:

"Yeah, potentially. I don't know the ins and outs of that."

He mentioned that he missed the Tokyo Olympics because he contracted COVID a week before the Olympics and said that he still feels sad about it. DeChambeau further took a jab at PGA-PIF negotiations and said,

"And then come this year, it's a little different. And obviously the whole situation with the PGA kind of makes things different. So I could foresee something like that happening, there being a tournament."

The US Open Champion then added that he's excited to watch the ping pong at the Olympics. He said:

"But as it stands right now, I'm excited to watch. I can't wait to watch, especially ping pong. I'm a big ping-pong fan. I love watching ping pong. So I'll be up on the table tennis. But again, I love watching it. It's one of my favorite sports to watch in my off time."

Bryson DeChambeau will be competing at the LIV Golf UK from Friday, July 26. The LIV Golf's third competition is being held at JCB Golf and Country Club, Rocester, England. The course is a 71-par course and 7255 yards.
