Danielle Kang fired a brilliant nine-under-par 63 to take a one-stroke lead after two days at the HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore on Friday.

World No. 18 Kang was at T29 after the first round but she hit 14 fairways and 16 greens and took 25 putts in the second round to aggregate at 10-under 134 after 36 holes at Sentosa.

The six-time winner on Tour thanked famous club designer Scotty Cameron for her improvement. She spent some time with Cameron before the tournament to design the putter that suited her.

Kang said:

“I think it took days for him to make these molds. And then I was with him for seven hours straight, grinding them, making it, buffering, lie lofting. It was incredible for me to watch. And I absolutely love that putter."

She revealed that the name of the special putter is 'DK Special', printed on the bottom.

Kang went bogey-free on Day 2 with nine birdies at Sentosa Golf Club’s Tanjong Course to tie her career-low round at the LPGA.

“My putter has been really hot for a while. So thank you, Mr. Scotty. It’s working.”

The second round was affected by the weather and had to face a rain delay as it was raining for more than three hours. Kang had a one-shot lead over Hyo Joo Kim, Allisen Corpuz, and Elizabeth Szokol.
