The 2024 Paris Olympics are nearly upon us. The men's golf competition is scheduled from August 1 to 4 at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, near Paris. Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, and Collin Morikawa will be representing Team USA.
Scheffler is ranked No. 1 in the OWGR, Schuffele is ranked No. 3, Clark is ranked No. 5, and Morikawa is ranked No. 7 in the rankings.
USA GOLF Executive Director Andy Levinson said (via USA Golf):
"The United States is home to some of the best golfers in the world and it’s an honor to introduce the four men that will represent Team USA on a global stage."

Levinson further highlighted Team USA's record in the Olympics. He said:
"Since the return of golf to the Olympic Games, Team USA has reached the podium on both occasions with Matt Kuchar earning bronze in Rio and Xander Schauffele bringing home gold in Tokyo. With such a talented team going to Paris, we feel confident in Team USA’s continued success.”
Golf has been played in the Olympics only four times. It was initially played in 1900 and 1904 and was then absent for a century till 2016, and continued as a part of the Games in 2020. The men's golf competition in the 2016 Rio Olympics was won by Justin Rose. Henrik Stenson and Matt Kuchar won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
Schauffele won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Rory Sabbatini and Pan Cheng-tsung won the silver and bronze medals, respectively, at Tokyo 2020.

#1 Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler is the current World No. 1 in the OWGR rankings and has been there for almost 92 weeks now. He also leads the 2024 FedExCup standings.
Scheffler has 15 professional golf wins, 12 of them on the PGA Tour. He has had an unbelievable 2024 season with six wins including a Major. This will be his first Olympics. He has earlier represented the USA in the Ryder Cup (2021, 2023) and Presidents Cup (2022).
#2 Xander Schauffele
Xander Schauffele is the current World No. 2 in the OWGR rankings. He is also second to Scheffler in the 2024 FedExCup standings.
Schauffele has 12 professional golf wins with 9 of them on the PGA Tour. He has had a great 2024 season, with two Major wins. This will be his second Olympics, and he earned a gold medal in his first for Team USA. He has represented the USA in the Ryder Cup (2021, 2023), Presidents Cup (2019, 2022) and at the Tokyo Olympics.
#3 Wyndham Clark
Clark is ranked No. 5 in both the OWGR rankings and FedExCup standings. He has had three professional wins, all of them on the PGA Tour. This will be his first Olympics. He represented the USA in 2023 at the Ryder Cup.
#4 Collin Morikawa
Morikawa is ranked No. 7 in the OWGR rankings and No. 4 in the FedExCup standings. He has seven professional wins with six of them coming on the PGA Tour, including two Majors. He represented the USA at the 2020 Olympics where he tied for T4. He has also represented Team USA in the Ryder Cup (2021, 2023) and Presidents Cup (2022).
