“The Ryder Cup is so much bigger than that” - NFL star Eli Manning takes a dig at Tom Brady while welcoming Keegan Bradley as new US team skipper

Eli Manning trolls Tom Brady while welcoming Keegan Bradley as Ryder Cup captain

NFL star Eli Manning welcomed Keegan Bradley as the new US Ryder Cup captain. While doing so, he didn't miss the opportunity to take a dig at rival Tom Brady.

Eli Manning is one of the game's greats especially for the New York Giants, as he led them to their two Super Bowl wins. Tom Brady on the other hand is arguably the greatest quarterback ever with seven Super Bowl wins.

On Monday, July 8, Ryder Cup USA posted a special welcome video on social media to welcome their new captain, Keegan Bradley. In the two-minute video, Eli Manning speaks about Bradley's new leadership role and how New York will welcome him. However, towards the end of the clip, he takes a dig at Brady.

In the video, Manning jokingly says that New York will forget that Bradley is a New England Patriots fan and admires Brady.

"New York is going to love you, Keegan, for the same reasons it loved me. Hell, New Yorkers might even forget that you're a Pats fan and that you love that guy (Brady) that was recently roasted on Netflix because the Ryder Cup is so much bigger than all of that."

This isn't the first time the former New York Giants quarterback roasted Brady. A couple of months ago, he tweeted that he didn't attend Netflix's The Roast of Tom Brady because he didn't want to roast him for the third time. He was referring to the two Super Bowl wins where the New England Patriots ended up as runners-up both times.

Does Eli Manning play golf?

Eli Manning does play golf occasionally but is not anywhere near his brother Peyton, who is a 4 handicap. He participated in the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Notably, his brother also competed in the tournament that year.

However, in one of the interviews, Peyton Manning claimed that Eli was the best golfer among the Manning brothers. He told Golf.com,

"I think Eli has the chance to get pretty low, you know. I think Eli actually has a chance. His weekend golf is shot too, but he does get to play a little more year-round. In the fall, I could see his handicap taking a big dip."

Manning is also often seen hanging out with golf superstars. Earlier this year, he invited Jon Rahm to 'The Eli Manning Show' and then was also spotted hanging out with Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas.
