Rory McIlroy hit an insane drive at the 375-yard par-4 18th at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on Thursday. The ball traveled 349 yards in the air before landing on the green and stopping just three feet away from the hole.

Commentators termed the shot as the "best ever" they had seen at the Austin Country Club.

It left social media in awe. Here are some of the interesting reactions to Rory's shot:

"this shot is absolutely ludicrous," read one tweet.
"This is not entertaining at all..I can’t wait for 2026 when every player has to lay up with 4 iron to the exact same position then hit PW to 15 ft. It will make the game so much more enjoyable," read another tweet.
"what an absolute nuke 🚀 won’t be able to do this when balls are replaced with marshmallows," was another tweet.
"Nothing fair about it 🔥🔥🔥," another user tweeted.
"UNREAL 💪🎯," was another tweet.
"I have the same reaction to my own shots, except I’m walking to take my second shot," wrote one bewildered fan.
"Good break hitting the downslope, otherwise that’s easily a 20 footer," wrote yet another.
"Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago," wrote one user.
"This will never happen again if the @USGA cowards have their way!" expressed another fan.
"This video is why they wanna change the ball," tweeted one.
"Look how much all the paying customers hate this sort of distance," pointed out one fan.
"Your promoting this drive and yes its exciting and awesome a fantastic finish and yet your also wanting to roll the ball back so shots like this won’t happen 🤷🏻‍♂️👍 well done," wrote one fan.
"That was completely incredible! A 349 yard carry. What a great match, that’s what makes it so enjoyable to watch," gushed one user.
"Man this is just no fun at all. Should definitely roll the ball back so stuff like this never happens," wrote one fan.
"458 yd 18th at Riviera. Hogan: driver, 2 iron. There is a plaque. Now it would be driver, LW. Who gets a plaque for a LW? Even now at 521 yds, JT, TW, Rory all hit short irons in. The guys are amazing but this is why I spend more time watching the ladies these days," explained one user.
"Preliminary reports are saying there was a 7.5 earthquake in Far Hills NJ with the epicenter being at USGA headquarters😜," joked one fan.
"@McIlroyRory is just different. We go to The Players Championship every year, and see all the best golfers in the world..but when Rory hits a ball it’s just different. So amazing to watch, definitely jealous, but amazing lol," tweeted one user.
