Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club, one of the many teams in his and Rory McIlroy's upcoming TGL venture, has finalized its roster. Tom Kim, Max Homa, Kevin Kisner and of course, Woods himself will be the four-man team Jupiter runs with beginning next January.
The league was supposed to begin this past January, but an infrastructure issue forced a year-long delay, which gave the teams more time to curate their rosters. That's what Jupiter Links has finally done.
Woods, who is part owner of Jupiter Links Golf Club and helped found the league, said via TGL:
“I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product. Now that we have finalized our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come," he said.
Several teams, including LA Golf Club, have finalized their rosters as the league continues to take shape ahead of its debut in a few months.
Jupiter Links players excited to play for Tiger Woods' teams
It's a rare opportunity to get to play on the team of anyone in golf, let alone a PGA Tour legend like Tiger Woods. Max Homa cited Woods' career as one of the main reasons that he started playing golf in the first place, noting his 1997 Masters win. He said it makes it that much better to be able to play on his team.
He said via TGL:
“It’s really exciting to call Tiger, Tom, and Kevin teammates. Thanks to TGL, I’ll be able to play with some of the best golfers in the world and bring this unique and exciting format to golf while also finding ways to connect with one of the best golf markets in the country in South Florida.”
Tom Kim revealed that he is excited about playing in this new format, adding that he was inspired growing up by Woods, but that Homa and Kisner are two of his favorite counterparts in the sport. Kim is also excited to be able to work with and talk golf strategy with Woods in particular.
Kevin Kisner didn't mince words, saying he feels very privileged to have played in the same era as Woods:
"Having the opportunity to compete against and alongside the GOAT has been one of the things I’ll remember most at the end of my career."
He cited Woods' competitive desire as a big reason the Jupiter Links GC will be one to watch out for next year. Kisner called it the perfect team to have fun but compete at a high level at the same time.
This roster is full of PGA Tour winners and, of course, a 15-time Major winner. None of the rest have Major titles under their belts, but Homa did finish in the top three at the Masters recently.
