Knighthood is a recognition granted by kings and queens to people for their exceptional work over the years. The person receiving it is granted the title "Sir" to use in front of their name. Notably, their wives can use "Lady" before their surname if using their husband's surname. Meanwhile, women receive the "Damehood" for their exceptional work and can then use "Dame" before their name. However, their partners do not receive any title.

Players have been battling tough conditions at this week’s Major. After three rounds, the leader of the tournament, Sam Burns, settled with a score of 4-under. There are only four players after 54 holes with a score under par.

Tommy Fleetwood missed the cut by just two strokes. He started the tournament with an opening round of 74 and then played a second round at 75. He settled at 9-over after two rounds, while the cutline for the event was 7-over.

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau missed the cut along with some other big names such as Dustin Johnson, Joaquin Niemann, Ludvig Åberg, Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Smith, and Phil Mickelson.

Notably, the US Open marked the first tournament of the year in which Tommy Fleetwood struggled to make the cut. He started the 2025 season on the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and, since then, had not missed a single cut in the 12 back-to-back tournaments he played.

But unfortunately, the streak broke at the US Open. He previously played at the Masters, the first Major of the year, and settled in T21 place, and then at the PGA Championship, where he recorded a T41 finish.
