Tyrrell Hatton secured a historic third Alfred Dunhill Links Championship title last week, providing a much-needed boost and significantly increasing his chances of automatic qualification for the Ryder Cup. His victory has also earned him a place in the final two events of the season, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and Dubai DP World Tour Championship.

Last week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland marked Hatton's fourth DP World Tour event of the season, fulfilling the minimum requirement to be eligible for the 2025 Ryder Cup. Currently ranked fifth in the Ryder Cup rankings, the 32-year-old is in a strong position to secure one of the six automatic qualifying spots.

During the post-round press conference at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Hatton expressed his desire to accumulate as many points as possible despite having limited starts on the DP World Tour due to his LIV Golf schedule.

"It's a Ryder Cup year. I want to earn as many points as I possibly can, and you know, I'm committed to try my best to earn the points that I need to be on that team," Hatton said.

However, thanks to his victory in Scotland last week, the Englishman will have a four-week break before competing in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

"If it means playing events that you wouldn't normally play, and not to make that sound as a negative. It's more of if I need to play, I'm going to play. So I'm happy that I have been able to win this week, and I can have four weeks off, and then I'll be fresh, hopefully, ready to play some good golf in Abu Dhabi," Hatton added.

The British golfer has been on the road for approximately four consecutive weeks, driven by his determination to participate in the final two events of the season on the DP World Tour. Had he not won, Hatton was prepared to compete in the Andalucia Masters and even the Korea Championship.
