Justin Thomas shared a heartfelt moment with an 11-year-old fan at the ongoing Genesis Scottish Open. The first round of the tournament was held on Thursday, July 11, at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.

Thomas gave a golf ball to his 11-year-old fan Elise for cheering him during the round. The moment was shared on the PGA Tour's X account. The post read:

"11-year-old Elise came to watch Justin Thomas play near her hometown for the second year in a row. The avid golfer got to meet her favorite player and even got a souvenir to bring home."

After receiving the golf ball, Elise said (via PGA Tour):

"I just think he's a really good golfer. I just want to be a really good fan because I really like him."

Thomas thanked Elise for cheering him during the round. He also got a picture with the young fan.

Justin Thomas led the leaderboard after a splendid first round. He carded 8-under 62 on the first day with five birdies on the first, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth hole on the front nine. He scored three more birdies on the 10th, 12th, and 13th holes on the back nine.

Thomas is followed by Sungjae Im who is one shot behind. Maximilian Kieffer, Haotong Li, Thomas Detry, Ludvig Åberg and Justin Lower are tied for the third position with a score of 6 under 64.

Justin Thomas has had 15 PGA Tour wins. His last PGA Tour victory came at the 2022 PGA Championship in playoffs with Will Zalatoris. He'll be looking to end his drought at the Renaissance Club. The winner of the Genesis Scottish Open 2024 will take home $1,575,000 of the total prize money of $9 million.
