Rory McIlroy has arrived at the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. The penultimate event of the DP World Tour 2023-24 season will be played at the Yas Links golf course in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from Thursday, October 7 to Sunday, October 10.
The World No.3 was seen practicing his golf swing in a light green striped polo, white shorts, white Nike sneakers, and a white cap. DP World shared a video of McIlroy striking the golf ball at the range. It captioned the post:

At the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai rankings will compete to finish in the top 50. The top 50 players will eventually compete in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next week.
Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win this year's DP World Tour Championship. He has won the tournament five times and will look to equal Spain's Seve Ballesteros' record of six European Tour titles. He currently sits on the top of the Race to Dubai rankings with over 4,500 points. Thriston Lawrence is positioned second with 2959 points while Rasmus Hojgaard is third with 2612 points.
McIlroy has performed spectacularly in the 2023-24 DP World Tour season. He started the season as a runner-up at the Dubai Invitational. He then went on to win the Hero Dubai Desert Classic by one stroke over Adrian Meronk.
The Irish player then had finishes in the 2024 Major Championships. He finished runner-up at the 2024 US Open and had a T12 finish at the PGA Championship in Valhalla.
Rory McIlroy has had two more runner-up finishes at the Amgen Irish Open and BMW Championship. He comes to the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship after a T25 finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Here's a look at his performances in the 2023-24 DP World Tournaments:

The 19th edition of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship has a prize purse of $9 million with the winner earning $1.53 million. Chris DiMarco won the first edition by one stroke over Henrik Stenson.
Victor Perez won last year's tournament by one stroke over Min Woo Lee and Sebastian Soderberg. Tommy Fleetwood (2017, 2018) and Paul Casey (2007, 2009) have won the tournament twice while Martin Kaymer has won it a record three times (2008, 2010, 2011).
