In Round 1 of the competition, McIlroy shot six birdies and one bogey to finish the round with a score of 67. In Round 2, McIlroy bettered on the birdies as he shot eight but also shot a double bogey on the par-3 17th hole, where he scored a bogey in the earlier round.
