Scottie Scheffler is competing in the 2024 BMW Championship at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. He is leading the FedEx Cup season-long rankings and has registered six PGA Tour wins, including a Major championship this season. Scheffler also won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and took his season to the next level.
He has started his campaign in the second leg of the playoffs on a resonable note. Scheffler is usually a slow starter and picks up pace as the tournament progresses. In the first round of the 2024 BMW Championship, he carded three pars on the first three holes and was inches away from carding a birdie on the first hole.
Scottie Scheffler stood on the 674-yard par 5-hole with a driver in his hand. He reached 383 yards off the tee and reached a bunker on his second shot. Scheffler was 39 yards away from the pin, but unfortunately, he misjudged the distance and went over the green into the rough.
The 28-year-old golfer played an incredible chip shot and almost holed a birdie, but sadly, the ball lipped out. Scheffler thus missed the chance for a birdie to start his campaign at the 2024 BMW Championship.
The 2024 BMW Championship has only 50 golfers in the field, as only the top 50 ranked golfers from the FedEx Cup have qualified. For the season finale, only the top 30 ranked golfers will move ahead and compete in The Tour Championship.
