Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 RBC Heritage with a 19-under score and three stroke margin, marking four PGA Tour wins from the last five events. He became the second player in PGA Tour history to win the Masters and the RBC Heritage back-to-back.

The World No. 1's parents Scott and Diane Scheffler witnessed Scottie Scheffler make history at the 2024 RBC Heritage. Watch Scott and Diane Scheffler celebrate their son's victory below:

Scottie Scheffler's parents made great sacrifices to ensure he got the best training to become a good golfer. The parents took loans during his childhood to gain access to the Royal Oaks Country Club. He met his coach Randy Smith during his time at the golf club.

Scheffler told Golf Digest reporters:

“To an 8-year-old, it just meant I had a place I could hang out all the time and play golf...But I found out a couple years ago it was more complicated than that. My parents had borrowed money to join the club. That’s one of the crazy things about parenting. They made this huge sacrifice that they didn’t tell me about for a long time."

Scottie Scheffler's childhood

Scottie Scheffler has three siblings and is the second eldest. He has three sisters - Callie, Molly and Sara Scheffler. The family lived in New Jersey before moving to Texas in 2001.

His mother, Diane was a chief operating officer at a law firm while his father was a stay-at-home dad. Following the family's move to Texas, Scheffler met his coach Randy Smith and his agent Blake Smith. He is expecting the birth of his first child with his wife Meredith Scheffler, whom he met in high school.

Scheffler's interest in golf sparked after his parents bought him a set of plastic golf clubs when he was 3 years old. Seeing his passion, his father Scott drove Scottie to and from practices while taking care of his siblings. Scott would hold a flashlight so Scottie could practice in the dark after school.

Scottie Scheffler told PGA Tour reporters:

“I was fortunate to grow up in a home with two parents that loved all of us very dearly, and my mom was the one who was working and supporting our family financially, which I would say is a little bit different.”
