Tiger Woods recently took to the commentary booth during one of the plays of Scottie Scheffler at the 2024 Hero World Challenge. The tournament concluded on December 8, at Albany Golf Course in Nassau, Bahamas.
On the back nine in the tournament's final round, Woods shared his insights as Scheffler delivered a dart on the third shot of the par-4 13th. Woods' initially provided a brief analysis of the hole and said:
"152 plenty of club. You'll be looking to keep this under the hole."
As soon as Scheffler made the precise connection, another commentator joined in with Woods and said:
"This is an attackable hole location as well. Tiger, you take a seat here in the booth and Sheffler delivers another dart."
Woods then admired Scheffler's shot. He said,
"Yeah, I would say that's attackable there. You know this is little cut wedge up against the wind, let it flow. Look at that."
Scheffler scored 9-under 63 in the final round of the tournament, ending any hopes for his rivals. He finished the tournament with a score of 25 under 263 and won comfortably by six shots over his friend Tom Kim.
Scheffler returned to the course this week after more than 10 weeks. He last competed at the 2024 Tour Championship. Talking about his win, Scheffler said (via PGA Tour):
"Very satisfying. I did a lot of good stuff today on the course. It feels nice to take a break and come back and continue to play some really solid golf."
The World No. 1 had a decent start at the tournament, where he carded 5-under 67 in the first round and was tied for fifth. He jumped on the top after a bogey-free round of 8-under 64. He slipped to second after 3-under 69 in the third round. He was one shot behind Justin Thomas going into the final round.
Thomas had a dismal final round, scoring 1 under 71, and finished third at the 2024 Hero World Challenge.
