Weather at the Masters today: Day 2 weather forecast for Masters 2023

The Masters - Round One
There is a forecast of rainfall in Augusta National during second round of 2023 Masters

The Masters is not new to weather threats as it has dealt with tough conditions in the past as well. The Masters suspended play on Friday (April 7) afternoon during the second round due to unfavorable weather conditions. Ongoing heavy rains and thunderstorms in the south-central and southeastern US could cause further problems at the tournament over the weekend.

  • Wind Direction: Will change from southeast to northeast, with a speed of 5-8 mph in the afternoon.
  • Chances of rain: Upto 50-75 percent
  • There are expectations of scattered thunderstorms in Augusta on Friday, mostly around noon, which could affect the progression of the round 2 play.

Augusta has dealt with challenging weather conditions during the previous editions of the Masters. During last year's Championship, five-time champion Tiger Woods was quite affected by Augusta's chilly weather conditions and posted a poor round of 6 over 78 on Saturday. The cold temperature during the third round affected a lot of players.

During the third round of the Masters 2021, the game was delayed for 78 minutes. The break, however, seemed to help Hideki Matsuyama as he carded a score of 6-under in the final eight holes. The following day, he triumphed at Augusta National.
