Who is leading the 2024 Andalucia Masters after day 1? Leaderboard explored

The first round of the 2024 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters finished on Thursday, October 17 at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. Julien Guerrier was on the verge of a sub-60 round, but ended up leading the event with a 10-under 62.

Daniel Brown is just one shot behind Guerrier, while Jorge Campillo is the best-placed Spaniard (third on -8).

Julien Guerrier played at a very high level in the first round of the Andalucia Masters. He played the front nine with seven birdies and no bogeys and added two more birdies on the first two holes of the back nine.

At 9-under and with seven holes to play, Guerrier had a chance to get under 60 with another four birdies without a bogey. In the end, he parred six of the last seven (birdieing the 15th) to finish on 10-under.

After the first round of the Andalucia Masters, Julien Guerrier had this to say to the DP World Tour News Service:

"I had the feeling I was playing the PlayStation on the front nine! It was very nice... When you're playing like that and everything goes your way, you take everything and it was a great feeling, of course."

Pre-tournament favourite Jon Rahm carded five birdies and three bogeys to finish in a share of 39th place.
