Who is leading the 2024 PGA Championship after Day 3? Leaderboard explored

The third round of the 2024 PGA Championship saw intense competition at the top of the leaderboard. So much so, that the round ended with a tie for first place and six players within three strokes or less of the leaders.

Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa lead the 2024 PGA Championship with a score of 15 under. Shane Lowry matched the course record for the round and climbed 25 places for fourth place.

Xander Schauffele played the third round of the PGA Championship with five birdies and a double bogey to stay in first place, a position he has held since the first day. Collin Morikawa, meanwhile, played with five birdies and one bogey.

Sahith Theegala remains in third place, just one stroke behind the leaders, while fourth place is occupied by Shane Lowry, Bryson DeChambeau, and Viktor Hovland.

Lowry entered the contention after equaling the lowest score record of the PGA Championship and Valhalla Golf Course (9 under 62), also his career-lowest round.

DeChambeau is one of the few pre-tournament favorites remaining in the competition, while Hovland is coming off his best finish of the year so far.

World number one and top favorite to win the PGA Championship, Scottie Scheffler, played his third round for a 2-over 73. It was his worst round since his third round at the 2023 TOUR Championship last August.
