Martin Kaymer and Bryson DeChambeau fired a 6-under 66 on Friday, June 6, to take the lead at the LIV Golf Virginia. Following the first day’s action, they held a one-shot lead over Graeme McDowell, Phil Mickelson, Marc Leishman, Anirban Lahiri, Jon Rahm, and Joaquín Niemann.

Kaymer started from the second hole in the opening round of LIV Golf Virginia and remained bogey-free for the first ten holes. His lone bogey came on the 12th hole, but he finished with three straight birdies to take the lead. DeChambeau posted a similar scoreline, picking up an eagle on the 14th followed by two consecutive birdies to join Kaymer at the top.
