The second round of the 2024 ISPS Handa Australian Open was played on Friday, November 29 at Kingston Heath Golf Club and Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne. After 36 holes, Lucas Herbert is on the top of the leaderboard at 14 under. Other than him, three other Australians, Elvis Smylie, Jasper Stubbs, and Harrison Crowe are in the top 10.
Of the 156 players who competed in the men's event at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, 65 made the cutline after the second round, whereas 35 of the 84 in the women's event advanced to the third round.
Talking about his round at the Australian Open, Herbert said (via Golf Australia):
"I thought it was funny. I played pretty good yesterday, just didn't really putt that well and then felt like I putted really well today, scrambled really well and the rest of the game was sort of off. So it was kind of funny. It was like two days of polar opposites to have good scores."
On the Australian Open women's leaderboard, South Korean amateur player Hyojin Yang is leading the event. Recently-turned-professional players Justice Bosio and Jiyai Shin are tied for second.
