The 2025 PGA Tour season teed off on January 2 with The Sentry. The Opening Drive of the circuit will resume next weekend with the Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. The event will be played from January 9-12 with a stacked 144-player field.The Sony Open in Hawaii will be the first full-field tournament of the FedEx Cup season on the 2025 PGA Tour schedule. The competition, being played in its originally intended slot, will also have Monday qualifiers for four spots in the field. As of now, the event will be headlined by the likes of Hideki Matsuyama, Brian Harman, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, and Tom Kim, among others.Golfers including the likes of Sahith Theegala, Billy Horschel, Kurt Kitayama, Corey Conners, Nick Dunlap, Russell Henley, and J.T. Poston, among others will take on each other for the top prize from the Sony Open's $8,700,000 purse.Notably, a list of big names like Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland and Max Homa will sit out from the event after the season-opener in Maui. Also, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler remains in rehab for his domestic injury.
