The US Open 2025 will commence on Thursday, June 12, at Oakmont Country Club, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The season's third major championship will see a stacked 156-player field compete against each other for the winner’s paycheck and trophy. The event, which will have PGA and LIV stars lining up, is headlined by World No.1 Scottie Scheffler.

The 125th US Open will feature 48 of the top 50-ranked golfers in the world. Scheffler, who has three wins this season, including the PGA Championship, will take on his closest ranking rivals, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele, in the contest after a break. Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas will join the top three and the complete top 25 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) list.

Interestingly, World No.26 Billy Horschel and No.38 Sahith Theegala are the only two top-50 ranked golfers missing from the US Open field. The Oakmont event will also feature 14 LIV Golf players, including defending champion and World No.10 Bryson DeChambeau.

It is pertinent to note that World No.24 Tyrrell Hatton is the only other top-50 ranked LIV Golfer teeing up in Pittsburgh this weekend. Ryan Fox leapt over 43 players from World No.75 to 32 after last week’s RBC Canadian Open win at TPC Toronto. He is among the latest entries to the special US Open players list.
