The 2024 Irish Open concluded on Sunday, September 15th at Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland. The course proved to be an excellent test of golf as only 16 players managed to complete 72 holes under par.Rasmus Hojgaard won the Irish Open with a score of nine-under. His performance included eight birdies and two bogeys (six-under).Rory McIlroy led the Irish Open at the start of the final round and looked to be consolidating his position with consecutive birdies on the 1st and 2nd holes. But from there, he carded just three birdies and three bogeys to finish at two-under.McIlroy needed to eagle the 18th to force a playoff and he almost did, reaching the green in two. But he missed his 10-foot, eight-inch putt and could only hope for second place. He eventually birdied the hole to give Hojgaard his fifth career DP World Tour victory.
