Amidst the ongoing controversy between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, Westwood took a shot at golfer Eddie Pepperell following his comments on the LIV Golf finale. Pepperell completely disregards LIV Golf and called it cringe following the team championship final in Miami.

Laurie Canter happens to be a member of the LIV Golf league and is doing moderately well there. Interestingly, he is also good friends with Eddie Pepperell. However, the latter reportedly believes their friendship soured when Canter moved to LIV Golf, away from the European league. Lee Westwood took advantage of the ongoing drama and reprimanded Pepperell for speaking against LIV Golf.

Lee Westwood believes the European Tour is 'in bed' with the PGA Tour

Having dominated both the PGA Tour and the European Tour, Lee Westwood has gained enough experience to speak about the workings of both leagues. However, his recent revelations have been controversial. The 50-year old made an astounding claim stating that the European Tour was in bed with the PGA Tour amidst their controversy with LIV Golf.

Westwood was a former member of both leagues before resigning and moving to LIV Golf. This also prevented him from being part of the recent Ryder Cup despite being the most experienced golfer out there. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, he criticized both the PGA Tour and the European Tour for being bullies looking for global domination.

“I’ve been a dual member of the European Tour and PGA Tour, but always said I was a European Tour member first and foremost and that I had fears about the US circuit basically being bullies and doing everything it could to secure global dominance.”

Westwood added:

“But now, in my opinion, the European Tour has jumped fully in bed with the PGA Tour."
