Being a pro golfer comes with plenty of challenges, one of which is schedule, especially for the LPGA Tour pros. The PGA Tour has a flow of events that is helpful in terms of travel and rest, with the season starting in Hawaii followed by a few events in the western part of the USA and then Florida, and so on.
However, the LPGA Tour does not have a schedule such as this. After the season-opening events in Florida, LPGA golfers travel to Thailand, Singapore, and China, and then come back to the United States again with events scheduled in different parts of the country. This makes it challenging for golfers, especially international golfers, as they are always on the move.
The LPGA Tour golfer Patty Tavatanakit recently shared her take on this issue and said there are some nights when she wants to call it quits. But the 25-year-old compared golfers' schedules to that of pop superstar Taylor Swift, saying that the singer as well as golfers can't "disappoint" people. She said,
"There must be some nights where she just does not feel like it; she just wants to call it quits, but she can’t disappoint all those people. It’s just the same with us, like if we just want to call it quits and we just want to go home, but we can disappoint all fans, our responsibility to the Tour, our sponsors."
The Thai professional golfer on the LPGA Tour said it's a part of the job, and they have to "suck it up" and do their best.
"It’s just a part of the job. Sometimes tell yourself you just have to suck it up and do it and do the best you can. If you watch her on the stage, she did not even show that because she’s great. I idolize that, and I try to put it in this year’s mindset as much as possible."

The LPGA Tour had two season-opening events in Florida before moving to Asia and then coming back to the United States. In 2023, prominent golf journalist Claire Rogers shared a video showcasing the insane amount of travel women golfers do in a season.
