While Taylor Moore emerged victorious at the 2023 Valspar Championship, it was Danny Lee who won his first title in LIV Golf by claiming the Tucson event. Taylor claimed his first PGA Tour victory, Lee won his first LV Golf event, and also his first title win in eight years.

Both were underdogs and no golf pundit would have put a bet on them. However, they surprised everyone with their impressive game over the week. Let's have a brief look at both the winners' profiles.

Taylor Moore was born on July 28, 1993, in San Angelo, Texas. He started playing golf in his school years. He won the Best of the West Classic and Texas/Oklahoma Red River Invitational in 2011. Over four years at Memorial High School, he won 14 tournaments.

Moore continued his good form in university golf too. He joined the University of Arkansas, the same university where his parents went to. As a freshman, he was named Co-SEC Freshman of the Year in 2013-14. He averaged 73.6 over 13 tournaments. The talented golfer finished in the top 10 thrice and in the top 20s six times. He was also named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

As a Sophomore, Moore ended the year at No. 75 by Golfweek. He played in all 13 events with a 72.4 stroke average. For his performance, he was named to the PING All-Central Region team.

The University of Arkansas alum didn't immediately find success on the professional tour as he had to wait several years. Moore turned pro in 2016 but won his first title in 2021 at the Korn Ferry Tour's Memorial Health Championship.

He earned his PGA Tour card by playing in the KFT and the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, earning him a card for 2021-22. There was a personal scare in Moore's life when it was discovered that his right lung was 50 percent collapsed.

The 2023 Valspar Championship was his first win on the PGA Tour. He entered the tournament as World No. 103. With Sunday's triumph, he is now sitting at the 49th position in the OWGR.
