Tiger Woods Masters Wins: How many masters has the golfer won?

The Masters - Final Round
How many times has Tiger Woods won the Masters?

Legendary golfer Tiger Woods has done it all and won it all. With 82 victories on the PGA Tour, including 15 majors, adjectives fall short of his greatness.

He has had the honor of wearing that green jacket five times, the second most in the history of the Masters. Jack Nicklaus has done it six times.

List of Tiger Woods Masters wins

Tiger Woods has won the Masters 5 times, all of which came in splendid fashion. Here's a look at Tiger's five Masters wins.

1) 1997

The 1997 Masters was Tiger Woods' first-ever major win and he did it in style. At the age of 21, he became the youngest winner of the Masters and the first champion of African or Asian descent. His 12-stroke Margin victory at Augusta National is still a record for the biggest margin for a Major victory.

It was a special win for Tiger as his father, Earl, had come to see him play after open heart surgery.

"He wasn't supposed to go to Augusta," recalled Tiger. He said, 'To hell with you guys; I'm going to support my son.'"

2) 2001

Tiger won his second 'Green Jacket' in 2001. Starting with a not-so-impressive 70 in the first round, Woods went on to score a scintillating 66-68-68 in the next three days to finish the event at 16-under par. He beat Dennis Duval by a two-stroke difference.

This marked an important milestone in Woods's career as he became the first golfer to hold all four major titles — the Masters, US Open Championship, the Open Championship, and the PGA Championship — at once. The feat was named the "Tiger Slam."

Another year, another record for Tiger Woods. He carded four rounds of 70-69-66-71 to conclude the Masters at 12-under, beating Retief Goosen by a three-stroke margin. He became only the third player after Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo to win the Masters in back-to-back seasons.

4) 2005

This was the first Masters that Woods won by taking the game into the playoffs. He finished the event at 12-under, tied with Chris DiMarco. Tiger Woods eventually won it by scoring a birdie at the sudden death.

There was one moment in the event when Tiger chipped in a shot on hole 16 where the ball stopped for a brief moment near the hole and then fell in. It has been played many times on television and has gotten millions of views on YouTube.

5) 2019

Prior to the 2019 Masters, Tiger hadn't won any Major events in 11 years and struggled both personally and physically during these 11 years.

On Sunday, he was trailing behind Francesco Molinari for most of the day. However, two straight birdies on the 15th and 16th and a par on the 17th made it easier for the legend.

Eventually, Tiger Woods aggregated at 13- under beating Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele by a stroke.

Tiger Woods to play Masters

With age and physicality not by his side, Tiger Woods has now decided to play only selective events. So, every tournament he plays from now on will be like a festival for his fans.
