Tiger Woods has been dominating the golf course for almost three decades. Having won 15 major tournaments in his career, he is unarguably one of the best golfers of all time.

Woods has won the Masters five times, just one trophy behind Jack Nicklaus, who won it a maximum number of times. But Woods will be back on the Augusta field in April with hopes of matching the record set by Nicklaus.

5) The Masters 1995

Woods played his first Masters during his sophomore days while studying at Stanford. As a low amateur golfer, he carded 5-over par and finished at T41. He impressed people with the game and it was undoubtedly one of his best performances of Tiger Woods at The Masters.


4) The Masters 1997

Tiger Woods won the first Masters of his career in 1997 within a year of turning professional. He started the tournament's first round with a score of 70 which was improved to 66 in the second round, and 65 in the third round. He played the last round of 69 to win the tournament with a dozen shots.

Woods became the youngest (21) golfer to win the tournament. He defeated Tom Kite to lift the first major tournament of his career and took home $486,000 in prize money.


3) Tiger Woods defended his major title

Winning a Masters is a dream for every golfer and Tiger Woods not only won the title but also defended it. The American golfer won his second Masters in 2001 by defeating David Duval by two strokes.

The tournament was dubbed the "Tiger Slam" as Woods won the US Open, Open Championship and the PGA Championship in 2000 and then won the fourth major tournament.

Apparently, the following year he defended his title against Retief Goosen by three strokes. Woods won the Masters for two consecutive years in 2001 and 2002. It was one of his best performances at The Masters.


2) The resounding comeback in 2019

After Tiger Woods won his fourth Masters in 2005, his dominance in the Masters came to an end. However, Woods made a resounding comeback at the Masters in 2019 winning the event by one stroke over Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, and Brooks Koepka, who secured second position in the tournament.

Woods started the first round with a score of 70 and then played the next two rounds of 68 and 67. With a final round of 70, Woods won the 15th major title of his career.


1) The Masters 2005

Chris DiMarco took the lead after the first round at The Masters in 2005. He carded a round of 67 to finish at a scoring deficit of five. He extended his lead on the second day.

On the third day, Woods took the lead but in the fourth round, they finished in a two-way first position. He defeated DiMarco in the playoffs to wear the fourth green jacket of his career.
